fifty years ago when i was seventeen i heard this guy singing a song the words went like this “is the world just designed for the chosen few are the fates only kind to the chosen few” i can remember all the words and the tune but i have never been able to find the music to it or find the words to see if my memory is correct if you can help how fantastic that would be best regards terry okeefe ps i am 67 years old so that was fifty years when i first heard it.

    Hello Terry,

Gerry Rafferty’s “The Land Of The Chosen Few” may be what you are looking for. Do a google search for that and see what you think.

Hi Debbie, it’s been a long time since we were in contact. Was fun to find your site again tonight. I was listening to some Bobby Vinton and it reminded me of the old days on the net and how much fun it was in those days before “spam” Nice to see you guys still hanging in there. Thanks again for a great site!

  6. Smudew says:

    Hey Iona!
Good to hear from you again! Yes, the net has vastly changed, but I think we can all make our own little communities of folks who like what we like. I’m trying anyway!

I had a flashback and some lyrics popped into my head from an old song. I googled it and all that came up was by Buddy Holly and I’m pretty sure it was older than that. It goes something like this: That’s what they tell me, that’s what they say…?

That’s “It Only Hurts For a Little While”
