I was thrilled to find this site for words to “peg o’ my heart”. I am preparing for a memorial service for a dear friend who flew for the navy, eastern and corporate companies…I’ve known him since I was 11 years old and he used to try his best to pick out a tune on the piano that he wanted me to play for him. He was so totally tone deaf that I never could quite figure out what the song was…He only remembered the first 4 notes! I think it was peg o my heart and i’m going to sing it at his service. His mom’s name was peggy and she died when he was a teenager, so i’m pretty sure this song is the one. Thanks so much.
As a piano teacher, i’m always looking for the words to old tunes and this site is a super source. Hooray!!
Jenny
I’m Sorry About Your Friend, but I am glad we could help
Thank You
Your Welcome
I admire the fact that you are trying to update your site and (let’s say) weed out some songs so others can bloom. But………….. There are were many loved songs on your old site that it would be a shame for them to disappear. Many of the songs you have included so far on your new site have lost thrie ability to be downloaded (a pity). So far all the songs you have included have been done well except the exclusions of play/download for instance “Oh Jolly Playmate”. Some people do not have computers that work well with videos( although that is also a good idea for those that have computers that can handle it)
My Mother has a memory lost problem and I was hoping to help rev her brain up by hearing some of the songs you had on your old site (unfortunately they were mostly in the ballroom and the old codgers pages). I will be checking back to see what progress you have made in bringing most of them back.
I know this project must be very demanding and I do not in the least mean to discourage you.
Good Luck
God Bless
Verna,
Oh Jolly Playmate is downloadable; there is a link to download the midi directly under the movie and above the written lyrics.
The “Vocal” sing-a-longs are not downloadable – that would be illegal
But all the “Midi” sing-a-longs” have a download link.
Hope your mom will enjoy the music!

Beautifully designed website with some very enjoyable material. Please feel free to use any piano roll MIDI files from my site. Glad you like them.
Thank you, Mr. Stibbons!! Your Piano Rolls are just beautiful!

My Uncle use to sing PegOmy heart to me and I love that song! brings back fond memores
Hi,
I’ve visited this site before, although it has been a while. But this time, it’s really, really hard to see the text over the dark background. I don’t remember it being so bad. In fact, I hope I’ve filled in the info boxes correctly, because I had to really strain to try to read the labels on the boxes.
From the sounds of it, I would say that you need to reload the page. The Extreme background is dark brown, but on top of that, the actual webpage is a light colored beige. Doesn’t sound like the whole page loaded.
Hi, Just noticed your lyric page with the lyric to Carolina in the Morning.
The words are OK but you have attributed it to the wrong composers.
It’s not by Dietz & Schwartz, it’s words by Gus Kahn and lmusic by Walter Donaldson.
Thank you, Brian.
Fixed it.
i enjoyed reading your blog and became especcially interested about the mighty 8th as my dad who has passed was a flying tiger a p51 point leader.this not only your great music but the flyers,, have established an immediate connection. you guys were a god send, thanks. mike{gez58}…………….
Wonderful site. Thanks for all the work you have put in for all of us to share. Music is great.
i am not sure when but 18 months or so while they were working on the website, theere was music
i believe called train ride. and i have been looking for it ever since.
Choyce
Hello Choyce,
The song you are referring to is, in fact, called Train Ride, and it is from the movie Ragtime. The soundtrack for Ragtime is available on iTunes, amazon, Lala, etc…
It is a beautiful song.
I was looking for your Stardust Ballroom tunes, specifically “Begin the Beguine”, when I found the Mighty Eighth Museum, which began with “Begin the Beguine”! I grew up listening to “during the war” from my mother. She used to sing the 1940′s tunes and I still do.(I sing with a Big Band). When we pause to think of our great nation and all of the sacrifices “the Greatest Generation” made…not for praise or adoration…for PATRIOTISM. They felt the responsibility to defend our nation, even if it cost them their lives. Do we have patriots of that selfless character today? Will there be an America left in a few years to even defend? Thank you for your loving effort to maintain this wonderful website. What a joy! P.S.: Do you still have the Stardust Ballroom tunes? Thanks!
Hi Sherry,
Yes, I do have all the Stardust Ballroom stuff …. the problem is that while they sounded great under Windows XP and below – the midi files sound awful under Vista and Windows 7. So I am going thru and updating the midi files one at a time. In order to do that, I have to get on a old desktop I have that still has xp on it and record the midi files into mp3′s and then bring them into Windows 7 and then do all the Sing-a-Long and graphics stuff in order to put them on this new site. So, eventually I will get all the good ones converted and brought over.
Hi Debbie,
I stumbled on your wonderful site by accident when looking for the words to some old songs for a singalong for my Uncle Bob’s 100th birthday party this coming Saturday, March 27, 2010. Uncle Bob used to sing Carolina in the Morning, Side By Side, Rosalie, Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep, Laugh, Clown, Laugh, and many others. How great it is to know that he and the family can sing along with some of these great old songs at the party! By the way, he’s in amazing health, sharp as any 30-year-old, and still gardens and walks 2 miles a day on his treadmill. He’ll go way past 100!
Thanks and best regards,
Sharon

Happy Birthday Uncle Bob!!
Debbie i want to thank you for answering my email so fast. I was surprised to hear from you. You are correct that I have Dial Up and im forever having problems. It was taking me awhile before your site to load for me but things seem to be a bit better tonight.
i do want to say that your old site was much more easy to access and a lot simplier but I guess with all the information you have you were having problems.
I like all of your midis and everything else. i grew up in the 50s and like the Rock and Roll and the girl singers like Doris Day-Patti Paige-R. Clooney and the like. The section u have on the Monkees is also interesting. Being in high school and bringing back The Beatles and the English Invasion brings back a lot of memories. As for Davy Jones ive seen him and the Monkees in concert here in Pennsylvania a few years back. Davey has a horse farm in my area and i got a chance to greet and meet him at a newstand where i now work. Two last thoughts-i like the 40s Canteen war music also. Nothing beats American Patrol., I really liked coming across on your hymn section the video that i remember very much when it aired in the early 60s of Andy Griffith and Don Knotts singing Little Church In The Dale.
Thank you again for answering my email and your concern.

Thanks for an excellent site. You’ve done a great job! There are people in Brisbane Australia enjoying your work.
Great!! Hello Australia!!
Thanks for the memories from an Old Codger in Florida. I have a great time singing along with all those memorable tunes. It brings back a lot of happy memories. Many thanks -you have a great web site . “Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella on a Rainy, Rainy Day.”
I’m so glad you are enjoying your visit!
Went to this site because I was searching for the song “Little Church in the Dale” and this popped up. Very interesting conversations between you all. I am looking for the words of this song with the chords, so if you have it, would appreciate receiving it.
‘Thank you, Ralph from Torrance California, originally from Maui
What an excellent web-site, only just came across it whilst looking for words of ‘Falling in Love Again@; a little spelling misprint in the first line as you have it though: “Failing in love again…”!
Mike, Drogheda, Ireland
I really like your website, particularly the Tin Pan Alley songs. I haven’t been able to find Don Ferguson’s site lately. Does anyone know if it will be back up?
