The Big To-Do
Posted By Smudew on July 29, 2009
We have several HUGE projects yet to do around here. Sometimes when I think of them, I get overwhelmed! But, we will get them done – one at a time.
Go over and see the Office Video to see how that “to-do” went!
About 7 years ago, we started building a huge addition to our house. The addition included a whole apartment intended for my mama, a den off the back of our house, an extended master suite and a rear screened in porch and a large deck at the back of the house. It took a lot of building to accomplish this because, while the front of our home is at street level, the back of the house is about 30 feet off the ground. So we had to build a sub-basement, and then a basement on top of that and then the actual addition on top of that. Only three people worked on this; Don (Smick), my brother Brian, and Me (Smudew). We worked every weekend for 4 years.
Then “real-life” came along, as it always does, and everything just stopped. Now several years have gone by and we need to get all this stuff done!

*giggle* “The Office”
My point – exactly! Smart of you to know that the accent wall should typically be just ONE wall out of the 4. (BA Interior Design University of Utah 1981) Less IS more. I think, you should have inverted the “old” light fixture….and turned it into a candy bowl….for your desk. *giggle* We just cleaned out my parents home to prepare to sell it. Strangely enough it was the “old” stuff the kids wanted to save. Even funnier, you have to “save it”….for it to get old.
Carol (Alias “Angel of Music”) What a delightful way to start my day. Now…head over to MY BLOG and tell me how to rotate the flippin pictures!!!!
I have loved your site for years and years. I am 73 in Oklahoma with 26 offspring plus inlaws and outlaws…My people came from Rome, GA in 1860 to Ark then Tex then OK in 1900. Grandpa Martin at Pontotoc, Oklahoma has an organ, piano and all the stringed intruments…all 8 kids played everything…he was a left handed fidler.
Hello Jimmie,
I am glad you are enjoying the site. Lots more to come!!
Rome, Georgia is not very far from where we live!
